Why Winter

Cyprus in Winter is a Secret Worth Sharing

While Northern Europe endures grey skies and single-digit temperatures, Cyprus enjoys an average of 17C in January with clear blue skies. It's warm enough for outdoor dining, hiking in short sleeves, and afternoon coffees on the terrace. Some hardy locals even swim year-round.

Winter is also when Cyprus is at its most authentic. The tourist crowds have gone, leaving behind genuine Cypriot hospitality, uncrowded archaeological sites, and restaurant tables that don't need reserving. Wine harvest season brings special events in the hill villages, and the orange and lemon groves fill the air with citrus.

For golfers, winter is prime season. The courses are in perfect condition, tee times are easy to book, and the playing temperature is ideal. Many European golfers make Cyprus their winter golf base precisely for this reason.
