Limassol
Pace
A car makes the coast open up, each beach a short hop from the last
Best months
June to October for warm sea, May and late October quieter
Good for
Beach lovers, families, swimmers and snorkellers
Limassol sits at the heart of the south coast, close enough for the white chalk coves of Governor's Beach and well placed for the long run west toward Paphos. The beaches change character every few kilometres, from dark volcanic sand to broad open miles and sheltered bays.
This four day plan keeps mornings easy and the drives unhurried. Base yourself near Limassol so every beach is a simple coastal hop, pack for long swims and let each bay set its own pace.
Day 1
Morning
Leave Limassol after a late breakfast and drive east for about twenty minutes to Governor's Beach. The white chalk coves frame dark volcanic sand and water clear enough for an immediate long swim. The cliffs give natural shade once the sun climbs.
Afternoon
Stay for the afternoon. The coves stay calm for snorkelling close to the rocks and the sand holds the heat without feeling crowded. A simple beach taverna covers lunch if you prefer not to picnic.
Evening
Return to Limassol as the light softens. Dinner in the old town or by the marina keeps the evening slow after a first full day in the salt.
Day 2
Morning
Drive south from Limassol for fifteen minutes to Lady's Mile Beach. The sand runs long and open, the water stays shallow and warm, and families settle easily for the morning. Bring shade and settle in for a proper swim.
Afternoon
After lunch take the short hop inland to the Akrotiri salt lake. In winter you may find flamingos feeding on the shallows, even if the rest of the year the lake is simply a quiet open expanse under a wide sky.
Evening
Head back to Limassol for the evening. A seafront table and grilled fish keep the coastal rhythm going without any rush.
Day 3
Morning
Drive west out of Limassol for half an hour to Kourion Beach. The sand sits beneath high cliffs and the swimming is excellent once you claim a spot. The water deepens gently and stays clear through the morning.
Afternoon
Continue a short hop further west to Pissouri Bay. The bay is sheltered and curved, the village above offers a few quiet tables for a late lunch, and the afternoon swim feels private under the surrounding slopes.
Evening
Drive back along the coast as the sun drops. Keep dinner simple in Limassol, perhaps a meze near the water, and leave the night open.
Day 4
Morning
Set off early for the longer drive west past Paphos to Coral Bay, around an hour from Limassol. The golden crescent of Coral Bay opens with soft sand and bright turquoise water that rewards the journey. Settle in for the first long swim of the day.
Afternoon
Spend the afternoon swimming and snorkelling the clear shallows. Coral Bay has easy facilities if you need them, yet it remains simple to find a quieter stretch of sand and stay put until the light softens.
Evening
The return drive to Limassol takes you through the late light of the west coast. Keep dinner easy near your villa and rest well after four days of sun and salt.
Itineraries
The numbered stops follow the day-by-day plan above.
Where to stay
A villa near Limassol keeps every beach within easy reach and gives you a quiet pool and terrace for the evenings. After each day on the sand the private space feels like the natural close.
