Base
Aphrodite Hills resort
Pace
Easy; everything is on the resort
Best months
March to November
Good for
Families, golfers, groups
Aphrodite Hills is its own small world on the hills above the south coast, halfway between Paphos and Limassol. The championship golf course, the spa, the village square and the pools mean you can park the car on arrival and barely touch it again.
Three days is enough to settle in: a round of golf, a spa morning, time by the pool for the children, and one or two easy trips down to the sea and the nearby ruins when you feel like a change.
Day 1
Morning
Arrive, unpack and let the resort do the work. The village square has everything you need for a first easy afternoon.
Afternoon
Pool time, or a first look at the practice range if golf is on the agenda.
Evening
Dinner in the village square, with the children safe to roam.
Day 2
Morning
An early tee time on the championship course, with its famous ravine carry and long sea views, before the day warms up.
Afternoon
The other half of the party takes the spa, then everyone meets back at the pool.
Evening
A relaxed family dinner; nobody has to drive.
Day 3
Morning
Drop down to the coast for a morning swim, with Petra tou Romiou, Aphrodite's mythical birthplace, just along the road.
Afternoon
Either the ancient theatre at Kourion toward Limassol, or the harbour and mosaics at Paphos, both within easy reach.
Evening
Back up the hill for a final evening on the resort.
